Playing with personalisation and openness in a codesign project involving people with dementia
Abstract
This paper describes and discusses the configuration of participation, and the first results of a participatory design research project, which explores how design can enable people with dementia and their social circle to codesign personalised strategies to communicate, focusing on leisure and entertainment as means to build and maintain social relationships. Personalisation is seen as an invitation to participate in the design project, where several aspects are left open to be redefined, organised and controlled by participants according to their needs, preferences and availabilities.
