tinsel-o-matic: an Artifact of Understanding

Abstract

The tinsel-o-matic was originated within the parameters of my Master Thesis project, titled "Design Hermeneutics". The purpose of Design Hermeneutics was to explore hermeutics as a possible theoretical approach to participatory design. Design Henneneutics resulted in a process that could be described as following a few "steps": 1. Interviews/conversations 2. Henneneutic telly - A mode for understanding 3. Production of an interactive artifact 4. Adoption by a "user" of the artifact 5. Exit interview with the user 6. Possible new process This paper This paper describes the process, the artifact produced and the use of it.
