Abstract

The research paper investigates the development of the industrial structure in the ?resund region in the period 1975 to 1997 and analyse the differences in the industrial structure between Zealand and Scania as well as different development patterns between the centre and the periphery of the region. The analysis was carried out both on the regional and municipal level. In Zealand Holb?k, Frederikssund and N?stved was selected and in Scania H?ssleholm, Trelleborg and Ystad. One result of the investigation was that the region was dominated by low technology but there were large differences in the industrial structure between Zealand and Scania. High technology plays a more important role in Zealand than i Scania. There are also large differences between the centre and the periphery of the region, where high technology almost is non existent i the peripheral municipalities Another conclusion is that the differences in technology level between centre and periphery has grown during the period.
